I'm visiting Newport on a cruise ship in September and I'll only be there for a few hours.
I'll be meeting a friend that I only see once a year.
Where's an inexpensive spot on Thames Street to get a good burger and pitcher of beer during the day?

September is one of the best times of the year to be in Newport, so I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit.
One of my favorite spots on Thames Street is O'Brien's Pub. It's a little further down the street than many places close to the dock (still within walking distance - or a very short taxi ride), but it's well worth the extra steps!
